Management
We entered the maritime sector with our company ULUSOY DENİZCİLİK A.Ş. in 1981 as a ship agency, which we still continue to operate.
In line with the demand brought by our increasing trade relations with Russia with Glasnost, we took our first step as a shipowner in 1994 by purchasing our first Ro-Ro ship with a capacity of 40 trucks and established the Samsun-Novorosysk line, which serves as a bridge between Russia and Turkey. In a short time, we increased the number of ships to 3 and started to serve between Samsun-Novorosysk and Derince-Ilyichevsk.
In 1996, we established ULUSOY DENİZYOLLARI İŞLETMECİLİĞİ A.Ş. and started “Ship Management” and gathered the agency, ship management and shipownership businesses within our organization.
As Ulusoy Shipping Group, we started our regular Ro-Ro services on the Cesme-Trieste route in 2000.
We decided to enter Port Management, which is an important field of activity in the maritime sector, and by submitting the highest bid in the tender held in 2003, we took over the operating rights of Çeşme Port for 30 years with the agreement we signed with the Privatization Administration and Turkish Maritime Enterprises Inc. on 06.06.2003.
In 2007, in line with the positive developments in the markets, we decided to enter the dry bulk market and renew our Ro-Ro fleet.
Today, our fleet includes two Handysize vessels of 2008, 1 (one) of 12000 DWT, 1 (one) of 22000 DWT and 2 (two) Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers of 80000 DWT of 2011.
In December 2012 and January 2013, we added 2 of Europe's largest and most modern new generation Ro-Ro vessels, each with a capacity of 4100 Lanemeter, which we had built in Flensburger - Germany shipyard, to our fleet in order to develop the Cesme - Trieste line and increase our capacity.
Our group, which has withstood the economic crises experienced both in our country and in the world in the past years, just like our ships navigating the world seas in stormy weather, continues to grow with Ro-Ro, bulk cargo, agency services and port management and to operate in every field of maritime in the international maritime community in accordance with all international rules.
One of the most important duties of human beings is to serve education. Our group, which has adopted this as a principle, has established ULUSOY SHIPPING ANATOLIA HIGH SCHOOL in Çeşme with a modern, full-fledged, boarding, 20 classrooms and a capacity of 480 students.
This school will continue to graduate highly skilled sailors of steel serving the world maritime industry and we are proud of this.
Thank you for your continued support.
Greetings,
Mesut CESUR
