1.       Objective:  To determine the general safety and occupational health rules to be followed within the Ulusoy port area.

2.       Scope: It covers drivers, passengers and visitors coming to Ulusoy port area.

3.       Implementation:

In order to provide a safe and efficient working environment in the port area, the following rules must be followed:​

1.       Use of Personal Protective Equipment:

  • All employees and truck drivers entering the port area must use personal protective equipment (work shoes, reflective vest).
  • Persons who do not use their equipment are prohibited from entering and operating in the work areas.

2.       Vehicle and Pedestrian Safety:

  • The vehicle speed limit in the port area is 20 km/h. It is mandatory to comply with this limit.
  • It is forbidden to use cell phones and not to wear seat belts while driving.
  • Port work equipment (forklifts, stackers, terminal tractors, etc.) have the right of way. Work equipment should not be approached more than 8 meters.
  • If there is pedestrian movement, pedestrians should be given way.

3.       Parking and Maneuvering Rules:

  • Vehicles may not park on pedestrian crossings, ramps where ship hatches are opened, docks, rope area and construction equipment working/maneuvering areas.
  • It is forbidden to move in the opposite direction, to make U-turns in inappropriate areas and to reverse maneuver between stacks.
  • It is forbidden to move truck/trailer trailers with the rear hatches open. The hatches must be properly secured.

4.       Driver and Visitor Behavior:

  • Truck/truck drivers must follow the directions of field operation personnel and park in designated areas.
  • It is forbidden to leave their vehicles except in cases of necessity. In cases where abandonment is necessary, a contact telephone number must be left on the vehicle.
  • It is forbidden to walk around the operation area, ship hatch and pier.

5.       Occupational Health and Safety Trainings:

  • It is forbidden for persons who have not received occupational health and safety training, who do not have a vocational certificate and employment report to work in the port area.
  • It is forbidden for unrelated persons to move around and operate in the port area.

6.       Environmental and Cleaning Rules:

  • It is forbidden to pollute the port area and leave wastes in inappropriate places. Wastes must be disposed of in appropriate waste bins.
  • Fishing, smoking and using small electrical devices are prohibited in the harbor area.

7.       Emergency Procedures:

  • When an emergency announcement/alarm is heard, go to the nearest emergency assembly area and follow the instructions of the security unit.

8.       Loading and Unloading Rules:

  • Standing under suspended loads is dangerous and prohibited.
  • During loading, 2 guide ropes must be used, loads must be handled only with appropriate equipment and personnel safety must be ensured during the operation.
  • Personnel involved in the lifting operation must use personal protective equipment (work shoes, hard hat, reflective vest) suitable for the job.

 

9.       Obligation to Comply with General Procedures:

  • Passengers, guests, visitors, visitors, drivers, etc. in the port area. everyone must comply with traffic and safety warning signs, occupational health and safety rules, procedures and instructions.
  • Port entry cards or temporary entry documents belong only to the card holder and cannot be used by anyone else.

 

WARNING:

In case of non-compliance with the above-mentioned rules, necessary legal and administrative actions will be taken against the person or organization concerned.
